These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Dog Breed Registry ("the Service"), operated by Dog Breed Registry ("we", "us", "our"), accessible at dogbreedregistry.com.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Dog Breed Registry is an all-breed dog pedigree registry and community platform. It allows users to register dogs, record pedigrees, post litters and planned breedings, list dogs for sale, create events, and interact with a community of dog owners, breeders, and enthusiasts.
2. Accounts
Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Free accounts may browse the registry, view pedigrees, and search breeds. Free users may not add dogs, post listings, or publish community content.
Paid accounts (£10/year or equivalent) unlock the ability to register dogs, record pedigrees, post litters and breedings, create marketplace listings, publish events, and post to the community board.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You may not share your account or allow others to access it.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. User-Generated Content
Your content. When you post photos, descriptions, pedigree data, listings, litter announcements, events, or any other content ("Content"), you retain ownership of it. By posting it, you grant Dog Breed Registry a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, and distribute it as part of operating the Service.
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of everything you post. You warrant that:
- All pedigree data you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- Any dog listed for sale is genuinely available and accurately described
- Photos you upload are owned by you or you have permission to use them
- You will not post Content that is false, misleading, defamatory, offensive, or illegal
Removal. We reserve the right to remove any Content that violates these Terms, without notice and without liability to you.
4. Marketplace Listings
Dog Breed Registry provides a platform for users to advertise dogs for sale. We are not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers.
We do not:
- Verify the health, documentation, or legal status of any dog listed
- Guarantee the accuracy of any listing
- Take responsibility for any transaction, dispute, or loss arising from a sale conducted through the platform
You must:
- Accurately describe the dog, including age, health status, and any known conditions
- Only list dogs you have legal authority to sell
- Comply with all applicable laws regarding the sale of animals in your country
Dog Breed Registry reserves the right to remove listings that appear fraudulent, misleading, or in violation of applicable law.
5. Litters and Planned Breedings
Posts about litters and planned breedings are provided for informational purposes. Dog Breed Registry does not verify the accuracy of litter records, parentage claims, or health clearances. Users should conduct their own due diligence.
6. Events
Events listed on the platform are created by users and are not organised or endorsed by Dog Breed Registry. We accept no responsibility for the accuracy of event details or for anything that occurs at a listed event.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Service to:
- Post false, fraudulent, or misleading content
- Sell dogs obtained through puppy mills or under inhumane conditions
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of others
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or copy data from the Service
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
8. Subscription and Payments
Paid subscriptions are processed via Stripe or cryptocurrency payment. Fees are charged in advance for a 12-month period.
Refunds. We do not offer refunds for unused subscription periods.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time. Your access to paid features continues until the end of your current billing period.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice.
9. Intellectual Property
The Dog Breed Registry name, logo, design, and platform code are our property. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dog Breed Registry shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to losses arising from marketplace transactions, reliance on pedigree data, or attendance at listed events.
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dog Breed Registry and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email and by posting the updated Terms on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
