About Dog Breed Registry
An independent, all-breed pedigree registry built for breeders and owners worldwide.
What we are
Dog Breed Registry is an open, independent registry covering every recognised dog breed — and many rare or regional breeds not yet recognised by major kennel clubs. Our aim is to give breeders and owners a reliable, accessible place to record pedigrees, track lineage, and calculate Coefficients of Inbreeding (COI) for any dog on file.
What you can do here
- Browse 530+ breeds with descriptions, characteristics, and history.
- Register your dogs and build verified pedigree records going back multiple generations.
- Calculate COI — the Coefficient of Inbreeding — to understand genetic diversity in a bloodline.
- List litters and planned breedings so other owners and breeders can find you.
- Post marketplace listings to advertise dogs responsibly to a relevant audience.
- Create and discover events — shows, trials, meetups, and more.
- Connect with the community on the community board.
Who runs it
Dog Breed Registry is an independent platform — not affiliated with any national kennel club or breed society. It was built to be breed-neutral, easy to use, and open to breeders and owners regardless of their club memberships.
Accuracy and corrections
We strive to keep breed information accurate and up to date. If you spot an error in a breed description, an incorrect group classification, or any other issue, please get in touch — we welcome corrections and contributions.
