The Armant, also known as the Egyptian Sheepdog, is a herding breed that originated in Egypt, believed to have been developed in the early 20th century possibly from crosses between European dogs brought by Napoleon's army and local Egyptian dogs. They are courageous, loyal, lively, and highly devoted to their families while being protective and alert. Bred to herd and guard livestock in the Egyptian countryside, serving farmers as a versatile working dog.
