The White Swiss Shepherd Dog, known as the Berger Blanc Suisse, was developed in Switzerland in the latter half of the 20th century from white-coated German Shepherd lines imported from North America. It is an attentive, sensitive, and highly intelligent breed that is affectionate with family and generally good-natured with other animals. Bred as a herding and companion dog, it also excels in modern working roles including search and rescue, therapy, and competitive dog sports.
