The Blue Lacy is an American breed developed in Texas in the mid-19th century by the Lacy family brothers, who combined Greyhound, scent hound, and coyote wolf stock to create a versatile working dog. They are intense, intelligent, and highly driven dogs that are devoted to their owners but require consistent mental and physical stimulation to thrive. They were bred as an all-purpose working breed used for hunting, tracking, herding hogs and cattle, and managing game on large Texas ranches.
