The Jonangi is an ancient breed native to India, historically found along the eastern coastline particularly in Andhra Pradesh and the Krishna delta region. They are energetic, independent, and intelligent dogs that are known for being unusually quiet and rarely barking, instead yodeling when they vocalize. They were traditionally used by fishermen for herding ducks and also employed for hunting, making them a versatile working dog of the Indian subcontinent.
