The Miniature Fox Terrier is an Australian breed developed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries from crosses between the Smooth Fox Terrier and other small terrier breeds brought by British settlers. It is a lively, alert, and affectionate dog with bold terrier confidence, quick intelligence, and a playful personality that endears it to active families. This breed was developed in Australia as a small hunting and ratting dog capable of pursuing rabbits and vermin into burrows, as well as serving as a versatile farm dog.
