The Bohemian Spotted Dog, also known as the Český Strakatý Pes, is a rare experimental breed developed in the Czech Republic in the late 20th century through crosses between the German Shepherd and the Carpathian Wolf. They are curious, alert, and moderately active dogs whose temperament combines the trainability of domestic breeds with some primitive characteristics inherited from wolf ancestry. They were developed as part of a scientific breeding program aimed at studying domestication and producing a distinctive Czech national breed with a wild appearance.
