Cretan Hound

The Cretan Hound is one of the oldest hunting breeds in Europe, originating on the Greek island of Crete with a history spanning over 3,500 years as depicted in ancient Minoan artwork. It is an agile, independent, and sensitive dog that is deeply loyal to its owner while maintaining a strong prey drive. The breed was developed to hunt hare and other small game across the rocky, mountainous terrain of Crete using both sight and scent.
