Alpine Dachsbracke

The Alpine Dachsbracke is an ancient scenthound originating in the Austrian Alps, where it has been used by hunters for centuries and was declared a distinct breed in the late 19th century. They are robust, determined, friendly, and tireless dogs with an exceptional nose and a strong drive to follow a scent trail. This breed was specifically developed to track wounded large game such as deer and boar through mountainous terrain and to flush foxes and hares from dense cover.
