German Hound

The German Hound, or Deutsche Bracke, is a scent hound originating from the Sauerland region of Germany with a history traceable to the 18th century, though its ancestry is much older. They are friendly, even-tempered, and persistent, possessing a strong nose and melodious voice paired with a cheerful and sociable disposition toward people and other dogs. Bred as a trailing hound for hunting hare and fox through the wooded hills and forests of western Germany.
