The Taigan is an ancient sighthound breed originating in Kyrgyzstan, believed to have developed over centuries among the nomadic peoples of the Tian Shan mountain region in Central Asia. It is an elegant, independent, and sensitive breed that is devoted to its owner but tends to be reserved with strangers, reflecting the typical sighthound temperament. The breed was used by Kyrgyz hunters for coursing game such as foxes, wolves, and deer across the challenging mountainous landscape.
