The Sporting Lucas Terrier was developed in England in the mid-20th century by Sir Jocelyn Lucas, who crossed the Sealyham Terrier with the Norfolk Terrier to create a smaller, more agile working terrier. It is cheerful, bold, and affectionate, combining the tenacity of a working terrier with a friendly and adaptable personality. This breed was specifically developed for hunting small quarry such as rabbit and rat, working closely alongside hunters in the field.
