The Shiloh Shepherd is a relatively modern breed developed in the United States during the 1970s and 1980s by Tina Barber, who sought to create a larger, gentler version of the German Shepherd. They are gentle, loyal, and highly intelligent dogs with a calm and stable temperament that makes them excellent family companions. Bred as versatile working dogs, Shiloh Shepherds were developed for roles in therapy, search and rescue, and service work, combining the herding instincts of their ancestors with a more amiable disposition.
