The Picardy Spaniel is one of the oldest spaniel breeds, originating in the Picardy region of northern France, with records suggesting its existence dating back to the Middle Ages. It is known for being gentle, calm, and affectionate, making it an excellent family companion as well as a devoted working partner. The breed was developed as a versatile gun dog, skilled at pointing and retrieving game in the marshlands and fields of northern France.
