The Treeing Tennessee Brindle is an American breed developed in the Appalachian and Ozark mountain regions, formally established as a breed in the 1960s from existing brindle cur-type dogs. It is an intelligent, courageous, and sensitive dog that is highly driven in the field but gentle and loyal with its family at home. The breed was developed for its exceptional ability to track and tree game such as squirrels and raccoons using its keen nose and loud, distinctive voice.
