The Bohemian Shepherd, also known as the Chodský Pes, is one of the oldest Czech herding breeds, with documented history in the Chodsko region of Bohemia dating back to the 14th century. They are intelligent, gentle, loyal, and eager-to-please dogs that are excellent with children and highly trainable for a variety of tasks. They were originally developed to guard the borders of Bohemia and herd livestock, serving as a versatile working and watchdog for Czech families and communities.
