The Japanese Spitz was developed in Japan during the 1920s and 1930s, believed to be descended from the white German Spitz brought to Japan via China and other Spitz-type breeds from around the world. It is a lively, affectionate, and highly intelligent breed known for its boldness, playfulness, and strong devotion to its family, often forming an especially close bond with its owner. Bred primarily as a companion dog, it was developed to be an ideal family pet and household companion, combining a striking snowy white appearance with a cheerful and spirited personality.
