The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon was developed in the late 19th century, primarily by Dutch breeder Eduard Korthals working in France and Germany. It is an enthusiastic, affectionate, and highly trainable breed known for its versatility in the field and its close bond with hunters and family alike. Developed as an all-purpose gun dog, it was bred to point, retrieve, and work both on land and in water across varied terrain.
