The Kunming Wolfdog is a Chinese breed developed in the 1950s and 1960s by the Chinese military, created by crossing German Shepherds with local wolfdogs in the Yunnan province. They are intelligent, confident, and highly trainable dogs with a strong working drive and a stable, alert temperament suited to demanding tasks. Originally bred for military and police service work, the Kunming Wolfdog has been widely used by Chinese armed forces for patrol, detection, search and rescue, and other working roles.
