The Polish Greyhound, known as the Chart Polski, is an ancient sighthound breed from Poland, believed to have existed in the region since at least the 13th century and documented in Polish literature and art throughout history. It is a proud, independent, and loyal dog that is calm and gentle with its family but retains the alertness and strong prey drive characteristic of sighthound breeds. The breed was developed by Polish nobility to course hare and other game across the open plains and steppes of Poland, valued for its speed and endurance in harsh conditions.
