German Spaniel

The German Spaniel, or Deutscher Wachtelhund, was developed in Germany in the late 19th century by breeder Friedrich Roberth, who revived an old German bird dog type to create a versatile flushing spaniel. They are passionate, hardy, and determined hunters with a friendly and cooperative nature, known for their excellent nose and willingness to work in all conditions and terrain. Bred specifically as a versatile flushing and retrieving dog capable of working upland game, waterfowl, and tracking wounded game through dense German forests.
