The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog was created in Czechoslovakia in 1955 through a scientific experiment crossbreeding German Shepherds with Carpathian wolves to combine the trainability of the dog with the physical endurance of the wolf. It is a fearless, lively, and highly active breed that forms an intense bond with its pack while remaining suspicious of strangers. The breed was originally developed for military use, specifically for border patrol and search and rescue operations in the Czechoslovakian special forces.
