The Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog is one of Australia's oldest herding breeds, developed in the early 19th century through crosses between native Dingoes and Smithfield herding dogs brought by European settlers. They are alert, loyal, obedient, and hardworking dogs that are somewhat reserved with strangers but deeply devoted to their owners. Bred to drove and herd cattle across the rough and expansive terrain of the Australian outback over long distances.
