Cane Corso

The Cane Corso is a large Italian working dog bred historically for guarding property and hunting game, descended from ancient Roman mastiffs. Known for its loyal, confident, and protective temperament, this breed forms strong bonds with its family while maintaining a natural wariness of strangers. With moderate energy levels and a short, manageable coat, the Cane Corso excels as a guardian dog and requires an experienced owner who can provide firm leadership and proper socialization.
