The Silken Windhound is a relatively new American breed developed in the 1980s and 1990s by Francie Stull, created by crossing Borzoi with Whippets to produce an elegant, long-coated sighthound of medium size. They are gentle, affectionate, and playful dogs that are highly adaptable and form close bonds with their human families, making them excellent household companions. Bred as a versatile sighthound suitable for both coursing and companionship, the Silken Windhound combines athletic ability with a friendly and trainable temperament uncommon in many sighthound breeds.
