The Romanian Mioritic Shepherd Dog is an ancient breed originating from the Carpathian Mountains of Romania, where it has been present for thousands of years among pastoral communities. It is a calm, loyal, and protective breed that forms strong bonds with its family but can be reserved and wary toward strangers. This breed was developed to guard and protect large flocks of sheep and cattle from predators such as wolves and bears in the Romanian highlands.
