The Tang Dog, also known as the Chinese Tang Dog or Tuòng Gou, is an ancient breed originating in China with a history stretching back over a thousand years to the Tang Dynasty period. It is a loyal, dignified, and somewhat independent breed that forms strong attachments to its family and can be reserved around unfamiliar people. Historically, the breed served as a guardian dog, protecting homes and property in rural Chinese communities.
