The Treeing Cur is an American breed that developed in the rural United States, particularly across the South and Midwest, from a mixture of working cur-type dogs. It is a bold, tenacious, and highly driven dog that is intensely focused on hunting while remaining loyal and affectionate with its family. The breed was specifically developed to track and tree squirrels, raccoons, and other small to medium game for hunters.
