The Tibetan Kyi Apso is an ancient and rare breed originating from the high plateaus of Tibet, where it lived among nomadic herders and in remote monasteries for thousands of years. They are alert, intelligent, and independent dogs that are devoted to their families while remaining instinctively suspicious of strangers. This breed served as a versatile working dog in Tibet, guarding livestock and homes from predators such as wolves and snow leopards.
