The Jagdterrier, also known as the German Hunt Terrier, was developed in Germany in the early 20th century by a group of hunters who sought a versatile and fearless working terrier after breaking away from the Fox Terrier Club. It is an intense, tenacious, and highly driven breed with a strong prey drive, known for being courageous to the point of recklessness and requiring an experienced, active owner. This breed was specifically created as a versatile hunting dog capable of going to ground after fox and badger, tracking wounded game, and retrieving from water and land.
