The Argentine Pila is an ancient hairless dog breed native to Argentina, believed to descend from hairless dogs brought to South America from Peru by pre-Columbian peoples. They are affectionate, lively, and playful dogs that bond closely with their families and are known for their warmth-giving qualities due to their hairless skin. Historically kept as companion animals and valued for the warmth they provide, and were sometimes used therapeutically by indigenous peoples.
