The Central Asian Shepherd Dog, or Alabai, is one of the world's oldest breeds, originating across the vast steppes and mountains of Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan. It is an independent, confident, and courageous breed with a strong territorial instinct and a natural inclination to protect its family and property. For thousands of years, this breed has been used to guard livestock, caravans, and human settlements from wolves, bears, and other threats across the harsh Central Asian landscape.
