Bluetick Coonhound

The Bluetick Coonhound is an American breed with origins in the southern United States, descended from French hounds including the Grand Bleu de Gascogne brought to America during the colonial era. They are friendly, loyal, and tenacious dogs with an exceptional nose, known for their deep melodious baying voice and their devoted nature with their families. They were bred specifically to track and tree raccoons and other nocturnal game by cold-trailing scents over long distances through difficult terrain.
