Armenian Gampr

The Armenian Gampr is an ancient livestock guardian dog breed native to the Armenian Highlands, with a history spanning thousands of years as evidenced by ancient rock carvings and historical records from the region. They are independent, calm, intelligent, and deeply loyal dogs with strong protective instincts toward both family and livestock. Bred to guard flocks of sheep and goats against wolves, bears, and other predators across the rugged mountainous terrain of the Armenian Plateau.
