The Kaikadi is a rare breed originating from Maharashtra, India, named after the nomadic Kaikadi tribe with whom the breed has coexisted for centuries. They are alert, agile, and energetic dogs that are deeply loyal to their families while remaining wary of strangers, displaying a keen sense of awareness. They were used primarily by the Kaikadi tribe to hunt small game such as rodents, hares, and vermin, as well as to guard tribal camps.
