Podenco Valenciano

The Podenco Valenciano is a primitive hunting breed native to the Valencia region of eastern Spain, sharing ancient origins with other Podenco breeds of the Iberian Peninsula and Mediterranean basin. It is an agile, alert, and sensitive dog that forms strong attachments to its owner while maintaining the independence and instincts typical of primitive hound breeds. The breed was developed as a skilled rabbit hunter, adept at working across the varied terrain of the Valencia region using a combination of its sharp senses.
