Volkosob

Working group · Russia

The Volkosob is an experimental hybrid breed developed in Russia in the late 20th and early 21st centuries through selective crossbreeding of wolves and dogs, particularly Huskies and German Shepherds. It combines the sharp senses and endurance of the wolf with the trainability and social nature of domestic dogs, though it remains a rare and specialized animal. This breed was developed for use by Russian border security and military forces, leveraging its superior scenting ability and stamina for patrol and detection work.
