The Bedlington Terrier originates from the mining town of Bedlington in Northumberland, England, where it was developed in the early 19th century by the working class for sport and pest control. Despite its lamb-like appearance, it is a spirited, tenacious, and affectionate breed with more courage than its gentle looks suggest. This breed was originally used to hunt vermin such as rats and rabbits in the mines and countryside of northeastern England.
