The Carpathian Shepherd Dog originates from the Carpathian Mountains of Romania, where it has been bred for centuries by local shepherds. It is a loyal, courageous, and protective breed that forms deep bonds with its family while being naturally wary of strangers and other animals. This breed was developed to guard flocks of sheep and their shepherds against predators such as wolves and bears in rugged mountain terrain.
