Volpino Italiano

Non-Sporting group · Italy

The Volpino Italiano is an ancient Spitz-type breed originating from Italy, with a history stretching back thousands of years and depictions found in art dating to antiquity. It is an affectionate, vivacious, and alert little dog that forms strong bonds with its family and tends to be enthusiastic and playful. Historically it served as a companion dog favored by Italian nobility as well as a watchdog on farms and estates, where its keen senses and vocal nature made it an effective alarm dog.
