The Kishu, also known as the Kishu Ken or Kishu Inu, is an ancient Japanese breed originating from the Kishu region of the Mie and Wakayama prefectures, with a history spanning several thousand years. It is a loyal, noble, and strong-willed dog that forms a deep bond with one person or family and tends to be reserved and dignified rather than overtly affectionate. This breed was developed in Japan's rugged mountainous interior to hunt large game such as wild boar and deer, prized for its endurance, courage, and silent hunting style.
