The Rampur Greyhound is a rare sighthound breed developed in the Rampur region of northern India during the 18th and 19th centuries, believed to have been created through crosses between the Afghan Hound and the English Greyhound by the Nawabs of Rampur. It is a courageous, loyal, and somewhat independent breed known for its remarkable speed, endurance, and strong prey drive. The breed was developed primarily to course and hunt jackals, wild boar, and other game across the plains of northern India.
