The Tibetan Spaniel is an ancient breed originating from Tibet, where it has been kept in monasteries by Buddhist monks for over 2,000 years. They are intelligent, independent, and affectionate dogs with a cat-like personality, forming strong bonds with their families while remaining somewhat aloof with strangers. This breed served as a watchdog in Tibetan monasteries, perching on high walls to survey the surrounding landscape and alert monks to approaching strangers.
