The Segugio dell'Appennino is an ancient Italian scent hound originating from the Apennine mountain regions of central Italy, with roots believed to trace back to dogs brought by Phoenician traders. It is a hardy, passionate, and independent breed with a strong hunting drive and an affectionate disposition toward its family. This dog was traditionally used for hunting wild boar and hare across the rugged mountainous landscapes of the Italian Apennines.
