The Perro Majorero is an ancient breed native to Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands of Spain, regarded as one of the oldest indigenous Canarian dogs. It is a loyal, alert, and courageous dog with strong protective instincts and a close bond to its handler. This breed was developed to herd and guard goats across the arid volcanic landscape of Fuerteventura, where it worked alongside Majorero goatherds for generations.
