The Norwegian Lundehund originated in Norway, specifically on the remote island of Vaeroy, where it developed in near isolation for centuries. It is an alert, lively, and curious breed known for its extraordinary physical traits including six toes on each foot and the ability to bend its head backward to touch its spine. This breed was developed to hunt puffins and their eggs along steep, rocky Norwegian cliffs.
