Drentse Patrijshond

The Drentse Patrijshond is a versatile bird dog originating in the Drenthe province of the northeastern Netherlands, with a documented history dating back to the 16th century and likely descended from the Spaniel family. It is a gentle, loyal, and highly intelligent dog that bonds closely with its family and is known for its calm, cooperative nature both in the field and at home. The breed was developed as an all-purpose hunting dog capable of pointing, flushing, and retrieving game birds in the boggy heathlands and forests of the Dutch countryside.
