The Bakharwal, also known as the Kashmiri Sheepdog, originates from the Himalayan region of India and Pakistan, where it has been bred for thousands of years by the Bakarwal nomadic people. It is a courageous, loyal, and protective breed that bonds strongly with its family and flock while being naturally wary of outsiders. This ancient breed was developed to guard livestock against formidable predators such as wolves, leopards, and bears in harsh mountain environments.
