The American Hairless Terrier originated in Louisiana, USA, and was developed from a hairless mutation discovered within a litter of Rat Terriers in 1972. They are intelligent, curious, playful, and affectionate dogs that form strong bonds with their families. Originally bred as a companion and pest-control dog, they are also popular among allergy sufferers due to their lack of coat.
